In a very casual presentation, heavy on the Q and A, Representative Tricia Farley-Bouvier spoke to the Club last week about a number of House and State initiatives including:

  • House Redistricting: because of a population decline, the Berkshire delegation went from four to three representatives. She noted that the current delegation work well together.
  • Rail Access to the Berkshires: $275 million earmarked for rail infrastructure improvements, however results will be long time coming.
  • Driver’s License availability to all residents regardless of legal status:
  • Question 4 on the November Ballot: Referendum on the controversial driver’s license law
  • Real ID: Feds are pushing states to create better ID security
  • 62F Referendum: Law enacted in 1986 sets artificial limit on how much tax revenue Massachusetts may collect.
