Stephanie Bosley and Jeff Lowenstein of BCAC presented details of the organizations Operation Warm program. BCAC plans to open a store like space at their East Street facility to provide needy families a dignified shopping experience. The store plans to operate November and December and will feature winter clothes and accessories especially for children. Many opportunities exist for individual and group donations for this project. In the past, this program has served over 2,000 area families. Bosley and Lowenstein informed us of other programs BCAC offers including their largest effort which is heating fuel assistance, where over 8,000 families are helped annually. The group also works to weatherize homes, solicit electricity discounts, provide food assistance, micro lending programs, transportation to child care facilities and financial literacy workshops.
