Stories
Lakeside Soirée
About two dozen Rotarians and their two and four legged guests gathered for this month's 3rd Thursday social at The Summer Whitehouse, know to others as Proprietor's Lodge along Pontoosuc Lake in Pittsfield. Pictured nearby, you can almost hear the stories and laughter as the assembly enjoyed the beautiful evening. Only one or two more chances this year for us to gather outside on a 3rd Thursday before winter keeps us all inside. Speaking of which, if you look closely, you can see the roof of the car past president John Murphy left on the ice a bit too long during a fundraiser a couple years back.
Helping Hands
Recently 8 or 9 Rotarians gathered to assist with meals for the important Feed My Sheep program. Elders, youngsters, and family’s were able to enjoy a meal of cheeseburger sliders, coleslaw, and chips followed by fruit and other deserts. Service Above Self!
Sign of the Times
Sparks Tower recently sent a representative to the North Shore to investigate the goings on. This example of Rotary community was observed in one the beautiful city's parklets in the downtown area. When the Salem Rotary is sponsoring a public event, they post notice on the sign pictured nearby, otherwise the time and place for weekly luncheon meetings is displayed.
Anise Hyssop Requests
Agastache 'Blue Fortune' | Walters Gardens, Inc.

Attached is a picture of anise hyssop that is 3-4 years old, it’s at least 4 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide. Showing you this because we can “split” the roots we planted last spring at Conte and share some to peoples’ personal gardens. This will only help native pollinators!

Let me know if you or any rotarians would like a small bunch of roots. We could arrange a dig and transplant day before frost in the next two weeks. Hope all is well!

Relatively new deck, with about $50 in the pot, looking for the ace of spades. Fred Derry could not pull it off last week.
