Lucas Marion spoke to the club about his passion for cooking good food. Lucas recently purchased Otto's Breakfast & Deli in Pittsfield after years of being a chef at Salmon Run Fish House in Lee as well as breakfast chef at Otto's in both Lee and Pittsfield. Lucas is a 2007 graduate of Pittsfield High and attended Rochester Institute of Technology, BCC, and MCLA before deciding to forgo a degree and start a career in the restaurant business. Lucas is a former officer in the Pittsfield Rotary Interact Club and has a long history of participation in Rotary and Interact events. He is a self taught chef and his passion for cooking shows is in his food and the care he takes in everything form ordering to preparation, his belief of buying local brings love to the food from the farmer caring for the animal or produce to chef and that makes the food taste better. His tip for all of us was to keep it simple, simplicity is the key to good food and don't over think the recipe. Stop in and see him for a great meal.
We said good bye to our October students and wish them well in their future

At last week's luncheon, President Kelly announced that there were still twenty-two members whose dues were past due. The Club had to pay RI early this year which put the Club into a difficult cash flow situation. If you are one of the twenty-two who are still unpaid, a little help here?
Eric Schaffer offered up a trivia question for the club last week about the Four Way Test that no one answered correctly. The Four Way Test was written by Herbert Taylor in 1932 as a subjective form of self analysis to be morally and ethically strong for his company. As club president he introduced it to Rotary in 1939 and Rotary International officially adopted the test in 1943.
