PDC 40yrs Young
Our guest speakers this week were Maureen Atwood (Executive Director) and Melissa Roller (Program Director) both from Pediatric Development Center.

Pediatric Development Center (PDC) is an early intervention program serving infants and toddlers in Central Berkshire and the South Berkshire Counties. PDC is celebrating 40 years!
In the fall of 1982, six determined women came together with a shared vision, to provide quality early intervention services and support for Berkshire county families in need. Now in
their 40th year, the Pediatric Development Center celebrates making this vision a reality for thousands of Berkshire children and those who love them. The past few years have presented
overwhelming hardships to so many in our community and beyond, while a growing number have looked to PDC for help and hope. Their devoted team of Developmental Specialists and
Therapists continues to provide that help and hope, even—and sometimes especially—in challenging circumstances. The need for the work they do is growing – and they are committed to
growing to meet that need. Each year they are grateful to all those who have made the commitment to help them keep theirs. This year, they hope that more will join them in caring for the
youngest of our community.
Wine Pairing Dinner (we all want another round)
This major event was held on Saturday 9-9-2023!
A great big hand of applause and thanks goes out to Jayson Tanzman and Amy McNally for handling all the details.
A big shout out to Mazzeo's for the flavorful dishes they prepared.
This was one of the most important fundraisers for the Foundation.
J Lohr wines presented each wine, red, white, and dessert, paired tastefully with a complimentary dish. Each dish filled
our palates with a delectable taste and the wine complimented each dish accordingly.

Sailing the 7 Seas
Our beloved Alex has set out on his journey and gave us a quick update:

"Today was a long one — First day of classes for the students & first day of work for student assistants.

I had 7 assistants each working 2 hour shifts from 8am until 10pm, so I’ve had a day of constant training.
The students are great, and we worked hard today, so the rest of the work will be a lot easier. We’re currently
in the ocean on our way to Malaga, Spain. Our original plan was to go to Morocco, but the earthquake literally
has us changing course. We are just so lucky that we weren’t there for all of the destruction. Many of our plans
were in places that were devastated. We are counting our blessings.
Phew. Okay it’s after 11pm & time for bed.
Send my best to the club for me." - Alex Reczkowski
TB Minute
In his member minute, Tom Bernard updated us on his world.  Tom is in his second year as a Rotarian. He is the President and CEO of the Berkshire United Way. Tom has been married to his lovely wife, Jen, for 26 years now and counting. He has an adult daughter who lives out in Boston. Tom was raised and educated in North Adams, Tom earned his bachelor's degree from Williams College and later his Master of Public Administration from Westfield State University.  During his invocation, Tom encouraged all of us to reach out to those who are in isolation, to give a helping hand as teachers, mentors, and role models!
