What is the PolioPlus Society?  In an effort to increase sustainable giving, the PolioPlus Society was formed to encourage Rotarians to commit to a minimum of $100 per year to the PolioPlus Fund until polio is eradicated from the face of the earth. Society members receive a special PolioPlus Society pin and a certificate.

 

As District Governor, I have chosen to make ending Polio my #1 priority during my District Governor year (2025-26). I will be sharing information about Rotary’s Polio eradication initiative every month. Joining the PolioPlus Society is just one way Rotarians can show their support for Rotary’s largest initiative.

What is the PolioPlus Society Challenge: More than a dozen districts have joined together during the 2025-26 to increase membership in the PolioPlus Society, and ultimately eradicate Polio, once and for all! As the founding member of this challenge, we have an even greater responsibility to lead the pack. You can help by setting up your monthly recurring Polio donation today. The district with the greatest percentage of PPS members in June 2026 will win a fancy banner, certificate, and bragging rights! RYLA 2025 🇹🇭✨

Wow — what an experience.
RYLA was all about connection. I walked in knowing no one, and walked out with a “family”: a son, two younger brothers, and one little sister. That’s how deep the bonds got in just a few days.

This trip taught me two things:
1️⃣ Experiences don’t last forever, and nor do the connections we make. Everyone’s on their own journey, and our paths only overlap for a while but not forever. That made me value every laugh, every talk, and every shared moment even more.
2️⃣ I learned that you truly get back what you give. During my time in Thailand, I’ve fallen in love with sharing. I don’t share to get something in return. I share because I genuinely love putting a smile on people’s faces. And somehow, life has a funny way of giving back when you least expect it. I won 2,000 Baht in a costume competition. It felt like the universe’s way of telling me to keep being me.

Through icebreakers, challenges, and late-night talks, I fully embraced being myself. The goodbyes were tough (especially with my little sister who cried when we parted), but that’s the price of real connection.

Reuniting with fellow exchange students, meeting Thai students, outbounds, and rebounds — every second was worth it. RYLA wasn’t just a camp; it was a reminder that life is beautiful when you stay open-hearted and give your all.
