Berkshire Family YMCA Capital Campaign
Last week we heard from Matt Scarafoni (Campaign Committee Chair) and Jessie Rumlow (CEO) who spoke about the $12.2 million YMCA renovation set to start construction later this month. They emphasized the project had excellent City and community support, and would preserve and expand existing programs using local talent. A very exciting prospect for North Street.
Membership Challenge
Probably the most important Club initiative going forward is membership enhancement. To that end, last week Eric Schaffer and President Murphy announced a membership challenge for the Club. For the next several months, any Club member that brings a prospective member to a luncheon meeting will have that guest's meal paid for by Eric. When/if that guest attends a second meeting, the meal will be covered by the Club. Can you think of someone to bring to Rotary?
 RSVP or Zoom
Please RSVP your intent to Joan DiMartino (joan.dimartino@gd-ms.com) by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday so she may give Mazzeo's a head count. If unable to attend, our luncheon meetings are also available live on Zoom. If you cannot be there in person, consider streaming the event via the following link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/84791340270?pwd=bm1zNkJPemF0MGJoLzZncW5KS3Judz09 .
Raffle to Support Serbia Project
The Club is holding a special raffle, the proceeds of which will support our international "Service Above Self" mission, specifically our "Years of Ascent" (kindergarten S.T.E.M.) program in Serbia. Tickets are $20 each, and the drawing will be on November 4. Only 200 tickets will be sold, for a chance at one of three gift cards from Mazzeo's Ristorante: a first prize of $250, a second prize of $150, and a third prize of $100. At last week's meeting, each member was given five tickets to sell/purchase. Any member unable to sell their tickets should turn them in to Alex Reczkowski or Jayson Tanzman soonest.
Student Guest for October
We have a student guest for October, Lena Ungewitter, Erik's daughter, representing PHS. Please help her feel welcomed at our meetings.

Birthdays & Anniversaries
This week we have one birthday to celebrate: Ted Potter (10/11); and one Club anniversary: Charlie Wetherell (41 years a/o 10/9/80).
Club Lottery
No winner at our meeting last week, so $44 was added to the pot, bumping it to $515, with 27 cards remaining in the deck.

Chases Calendar
On Monday, October 11, we celebrate NATIONAL KICK-BUTT DAY (second Monday each October), when we commit to kicking ourselves in the butt to take action on goals we've set and not achieved (think Club membership), actions we've committed to and not taken (think Rotary Auction), promises we've made and not kept, excuses we've created that have us stalled, and difficulties we've faced and not overcome. This is the day we get our butts in gear and move forward in our lives, no butts about it!
