At our meeting last week, president, Shaun Heimann, along with immediate past president, John McLaughlin, officially opened the Ralph Cianflone Playground and Splash Pad at Clapp Park. The Cianflone family, along with close family friends and many members of the Club were present for the dedication. Ralph was a vocal advocate for Rotary Club of Pittsfield’s support for much-needed improvements to Clapp Park and the addition of a splash pad for children and families. Largely the result of his advocacy, Rotary Club of Pittsfield accepted this project as our 100-year anniversary project and set to work on getting everything in order to raise the fun. How sad and unfortunate that Ralph, a long-term member of our Club and a Paul Harris Fellow, died suddenly just as our fundraising efforts began in April 2017.
