After a brief introduction by event co-chair Ed Forfa, the Club presented the Dr. David B. Kagan awards for outstanding service to our Community. Dave Hall introduced award recipient Bernie Klem, and Joan DiMartino introduced Melissa Mazzeo. Closing remarks were provided by event co-chair John Hudnall. Also pictured is Mrs. Kagan, Dr. Kagans daughter, Joe Woitkoski (a 2020 recipients of the Kagan Award previously presented via Zoom), and co-chairs Forfa and Hudnall. Each year, starting in 1977, Rotary Club of Pittsfield recognizes two individuals, a man and a woman who are not Rotarians, and who have made significant contributions to our community through volunteer activities. Their activities have created lasting change in the lives of individuals and families, activities that have made this community a better place to live, work and raise a family. The nominees are not necessarily high profile individuals, but persons who have provided service above self to others. Each recipient receives a stipend of $200 to be given to the charity of their choice. |
