Last week we were visited by DG Kyong Wilson, who noted we were the 39^th Club she has visited since she assumed the role of governor of Rotary District 7890.  She was impressed by Club’s website and the depth of our activities and projects.  She supports the adage, “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it,” and assured members that she had no plans for sweeping changes n the District, however she wanted Clubs to understand that the Governor is there to support us.  Kyong highlighted two programs.  She’s a big supporter of Rotarians as mentors.  We can’t take our talent with us when we die, so she encouraged us to share those talents while we can have a positive impact on our communities.  She also spoke briefly about the member benefits program – Rotary Global Rewards – introduced by RI president K.R. Ravindran, that will allow Rotary members to connect with hundreds of businesses and service providers from around the world, including discounts on car rentals, hotels, dining, and entertainment, offering Rotarians discounts and concessions on the everyday business that we do, and in many cases benefit RI Foundation with each transaction as well.
