Walk A Mile

On Thursday Mike Hinkley spoke to us about the 6th annual Walk A Mile event to benefit the Elizabeth Freeman Center. The event, in which participants are sponsored to walk a mile in high-heels, raises money and awareness in support of survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence in our county. The event was a success, with many walkers both old and new participating; the fundraising site for the Elizabeth Freeman Center currently indicates that they have surpassed their funding goal. Mike demonstrated his dedication to the cause by attending lunch wearing not just the shoes he would be walking in, but full gladiator attire as well.
