Shae Hassett Receives Gene Case Award

At our last meeting we presented the annual Gene Case Scholarship.  Marshall Raser started off the program by providing a short background about Gene, who was a Rotarian for 45 years, past Club president and District Governor.  While Gene had a host of volunteer credits, his favorites were those that involved youth.  Tom Hamel then took over and introduced Shae Hassett, the daughter of Rotarian Jeff and Kate Hassett.  Shae is third in her class at Taconic High School, and is very busy outside of class with extracurricular activities and community service where she epitomizes Rotary’s “Service Above Self” mantra.  Congratulations to the proud parents, and to the committee (Tom Hamel, Kelly Marion, Jay Marion and Joan DiMartino) for the excellent choice.
